Ann Gommers Bio

"
Good paintings tell stories. Because I am lucky enough to split my time between the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii  and the shores of "Downeast" Maine I am inspired by the people and environment of two beautiful story-filled places".

Ann is a 'plein air' painter and also spends time in the studio.  She enjoys commission work also.

Ann holds a BFA from the University of Denver and has studied art at the University of Copenhagen and the Rhode Island School of Design. She shows her work in Hawaii, Maine and California.

Landscapes, seascapes, skyscapes and portraiture hold her interest.  In addition, she doesn't shy away from using her work to bring a political message.

Oil is her favorite medium, but she also uses acrylic and mixed media, such as oil mixed with textiles and pastels.  Her latest work can be found in the  "Hawaii" Series and in the "New Works" gallery.
